3月2日，因為美元指數下跌，現貨黃金反彈上漲，但美債收益率的穩定抑制了金價的回升。目前投資者押注美國經濟復蘇預期，對於債券市場的拋售是否結束，還沒有定論。但市場預估歐洲和日本的央行會更在意債券收益率走高。
歐洲央行行長拉加德表示，歐洲央行將防止企業和家庭的借貸成本過早增加。歐洲央行官員弗朗索瓦·德·加洛更明確地稱，近期債券收益率的某些上漲毫無根據，歐洲央行必須收回植根於其債券購買計畫中的靈活性。這些話令歐元兌美元匯率承壓。交易者已經意識到了歐洲央行和美聯儲在語氣措辭上的明顯差異。
美聯儲傳遞的訊息是一致且堅決的：其1200億美元每月購債操作要到經濟全面復蘇才會調整，真正意義上的加息就更遠了。美聯儲已更加重視創造就業，尤其是對低收入家庭，且去年明確承諾允許通脹率在長期處於過低水準後超過目標。
因相信市場過度強調美聯儲在通脹目標方面的任務，“還有一點值得注意，雖然美聯儲已暗示不大可能加推針對實質經濟的寬鬆措施，但英國央行、歐洲央行和加拿大央行均已明確表示仍會考慮降息。”
由於新訂單激增，美國2月份製造業PMI升至三年新高。在週一公佈的另一份報告中，商務部表示，1月建築支出上升1.7%，經濟學家此前預估為增長0.8%。
隨著1.9萬億美元抗疫救助方案即將獲批，且新冠疫苗接種工作持續推進，使經濟出現了一年前難以想像的前景，分析師普遍上調預期，預計美國經濟復蘇將變得更加堅挺，這是2月份美債收益率飆升，並持續施壓金價的動因。
不過可就業就沒這麼快復蘇了。就業崗位仍要比2020年2月時少大約1000萬個，填補這一缺口仍是決策者面臨的一個緊迫問題。上次衰退後，過了六年才達到了衰退之前的就業高峰狀態。
就業市場往往比實際經濟活動滯後六個月。況且，新冠變種病毒的出現構成風險，在群體免疫前就重回正常生活可能讓病毒有新的立足點。我們可能還會見證新一波並購、破產和裁員潮，潛在的避險情緒將壓縮金價下行空間。
