經濟復蘇預期施壓黃金，但美指重挫限制跌幅

5月26日，由於全球對經濟復蘇的樂觀情緒增加，現貨黃金受到一定壓制，同時歐系貨幣受到支撐出現巨大漲幅，美元指數受到重創，限制了金價的跌幅。英國央行不排除推行負利率政策，英國脫歐談判仍有跳出僵局的情況。
歐元兌美元日內最大漲幅接近0.8%，錄得三個交易日新高至1.0980。歐盟外交官表示，歐盟領導人可能在接下來的幾周舉行面對面的峰會，討論下一筆聯合預算和相關的抗疫復蘇基金問題，以及暫停抗疫封鎖令問題。
在歐盟總部布魯塞爾，很少有人相信，歐盟預算協議中常見的激烈的爭論可以在網路會議中發揮效果，而且隨著感染速度減緩，多數歐盟成員國都在放鬆封鎖。
日內有消息稱，歐洲央行正在制定應急計畫，即使德國央行被迫退出公共部門債券購買計畫(PSPP)，預計也會購買德國債券。此舉被認為是應對德國法院先前做出的裁決——暫停德國央行參與歐洲央行的購債計畫，並要求後者就必要性做出說明。
英國央行首席經濟學家霍爾丹日內發表講話稱，調查顯示消費和企業信心出現了部分企穩和非常溫和的復蘇，結果略好於預期。預計二季度英國經濟可能收縮20%。就業方面出現少量穩定的跡象，但可能要到2023年才能回到疫情前的水準。
英國與歐盟在脫歐後繼談判中關鍵的漁業問題上取得進展。但英國與歐盟的脫歐過渡期談判前景，從眼下來看依舊是凶多吉少。英國此前已經多次堅稱，不會尋求延長過渡期。
下一輪談判定於6月初，在歐洲理事會月中會議之前，歐盟領導人將討論和評估所取得的進展。英國必須在6月底之前要求延長會談和過渡期，但是到目前為止，沒有跡象表明英國會考慮這種要求。
