美元主角光環再現 或重拾漲勢、黃金跌破1190
8月22日-23日，中美兩國重啟貿易談判，使金融市場燃起了貿易戰或許有望得到避免的希望。美國從週四開始對160億美元中國產品加征關稅，中方立即作出對美約160億美元商品加征25%關稅正式實施。中美關稅的施行再次令市場避險情緒升溫，美元從中獲益上漲。
同時，加上全球央行年會前夕美元需求增加。美元得到提振。
受上述三大要素影響，美元週四盤中持續攀升，美指最高觸及95.71，受美元再次重拾漲勢影響，黃金上日跌破1190關口，最低觸及1183美元附近。

傑克遜霍爾年會於8月23日至8月25日在懷俄明州舉行。美聯儲主席鮑威爾和其他央行官員將深入探討與剖析導致通脹低迷、薪資增速緩慢、生產率上揚乏力等問題出現的根本原因。
美聯儲最近一次會議紀要的分析顯示，美聯儲可能會維持其鷹派傾向。在此次特朗普表示美聯儲應當做得更多來幫助他提振經濟。
