週三晚間，美元指數短線急跌，擊破95關口，最低刷新逾兩周以來的低位94.93，為8月6日以來新低。美元指數小時圖上出現潛在的頭肩頂形態，頸線位於96.00附近，沿著它旋轉會產生一個接近於95.00的測試目標。停滯已久的多頭可能把美元的進一步反彈視為離場觀望的機會，95.80-96.00可能會限制漲勢。現貨黃金拉升，突破1200關口，最高升至1201.40美元/盎司，創8月13日以來最高。
央行年會及美聯儲會議將決定美元命運
週五美聯儲主席鮑威爾將在傑克遜霍爾年會上發表講話，在被特朗普施壓之後美聯儲會作何反應？保持政策獨立的美聯儲若繼續表達繼續加息，美元指數則可能重回上漲。
鮑威爾央行年會上發表講話時，可能會因特朗普言論而面對一些令人不悅的提問，但這不會改變未來的經濟形勢或是美聯儲政策。美聯儲有可能不是在12月，就會在明年3月暫停升息，這非因特朗普施壓所致，乃是因為在聯邦基金利率逼近中性而可能仍未浮現通脹威脅的背景下。
