美元被特朗普操控？黃金命運坎坷
8月21日，現貨黃金價格升至一周高點回落，美元創出新低後收窄跌幅。美國總統特朗普再次為加息一事批評美聯儲，認為利率應更寬鬆。但是特朗普對即將舉行的中美貿易協商潑冷水，限制美元跌幅。美國和貿易夥伴之間的緊張都推動美元走至高位。
美國總統特朗普在7月份批評美聯儲過度收緊貨幣政策，令投資者受到驚嚇。週一(8月20日)他又為升息一事抨擊美聯儲主席鮑威爾，稱美聯儲的利率政策應該更加寬鬆。
在最近幾十年中，美國總統鮮少批評美聯儲，因為美聯儲的獨立性被視為對維持經濟穩定十分重要。特朗普則與這一傳統做法背道而馳，他把降低美國貿易赤字做為優先考量，升息加上美元升值則對出口增長構成風險。
特朗普在競選總統期間就對美聯儲有所批評，表示其他國家在艱困的貿易談判期間都能從央行舉措中獲益，可是美國並沒有得到美聯儲的支持。
2008年全球金融危機後，美聯儲約有六年時間維持政策利率在歷史低點，然後從2015年末重新開始緩步升息。
美聯儲發言人對於特朗普週一的言論未予置評。鮑威爾上月在一次採訪中稱，美聯儲素有獨立於各種政治考量的悠久傳統，特朗普政府中沒有人對他說起過這方面的問題。
與此同時，投資者關注美聯儲週三將公佈的8月會議記錄，以及本周稍晚在懷俄明州傑克森霍爾(Jackson Hole)舉行的央行年度政策會議，以尋找有關美國貨幣政策走向的線索。
在中美兩國本周料將舉行的談判開始前，投資者撤出美元避險部位，亦導致美元走軟。媒體報導，這項會談將在接下來幾天內召開。部分市場人士認為，這次會談有可能緩解貿易爭端。
但特朗普週一稱，預計本周在華盛頓與中國舉行的貿易磋商不會取得多大進展，他沒有結束與中國貿易爭端的“時間框架”。他表示：“中國談判代表將很快抵達，但他對這一中等級別的磋商‘期望不大’。”
美國貿易代表辦公室本周還將就對另外2000億美元中國進口商品加征關稅的建議舉行聽證會。若對這些商品加征關稅，將直接打擊消費產品。
美國及其貿易夥伴間貿易緊張情勢升高，加上土耳其里拉暴跌，曾於8月15日將美元指數推升至96.984，為2017年6月以來高點。如果全球兩大經濟體無法在本周緩和業已緊繃的經貿關係，黃金將伴隨著美元的重新走強而轉衰，後市不排除跌破1160美元
