美元減弱，不再是避險選擇

美國股市遭到拋售，美元兌新興市場貨幣走強，“美元微笑”現象減弱，市場兌發展中國家的貨幣表現進行研究，發現美元股市回檔伴隨美元走強的趨勢已經減弱了很多，目前美元暫時不是市場的避險選擇了。
外媒計算顯示，在最近三次標普500指數正常化跌幅為10%期間，美元兌巴西雷亞爾、哥倫比亞比索和南非蘭特在內的一籃子新興市場貨幣的漲幅中值為2.3%。該數字低於分析中最早六次股票回檔期間的7.4%。
“美元微笑”框架用來描述美國經濟強勁或疲軟的極端時期美元的漲勢，這是新興市場投資者頭寸配置的基石。這一框架暗示，當美國的經濟增速高於世界其他地區時，美元會升值，但在經濟或股市疲軟時期，也可能因避險需求而上漲。
分析師，一般來說，美國的通脹水準、貨幣政策和美元是影響黃金價格的三個主要因素。但與此同時，美元的影響力不應被誇大。在過去幾年中，金價與美元指數呈負相關。2019年8月，二者的這種相關性達到五年來的最高水準。
這意味著，從長期角度看，美元指數本身並不影響黃金價格。當美元指數位於80時，金價或許在1000美元、1400美元，也可能是1800美元。但是，美元走勢與金價走勢之間存在反向的相互依存關係：美元上漲對金價產生負面影響，反之亦然。因此，美元在決定黃金基本均衡價格方面沒有扮演重要角色。
再看美國的通脹水準和貨幣政策。有一個主要指標強烈影響著金價——美國實際利率。需要指出的是，該指標包含兩個指標，即10年期美國國債收益率(反映美國貨幣政策)和美國的通脹率：現在黃金的合理價格非常接近實際價格。
持久的經濟疲軟完全有可能促使美聯儲最終實施負利率政策，只是本輪週期出現這種情況的幾率依然略低於50%。Marks在給客戶的一份報告中說，製造業增長的放緩已經加大了經濟陷入衰退的可能，因此美聯儲有必要繼續下調基準利率，“有人認為，安全資產的強勁需求和人口負增長趨勢同樣適用於美國，因此美國債券收益率跌破零是有可能的。”
投資者應當買入可以帶來持久現金流的資產，由此為利率跌破零的可能做好準備，“在負收益率時代，債券、貸款、股票、地產、能夠產生穩定收益（或能維持收益增長）的公司以及能在成本基礎上產生可觀收益的配資似乎都是合理的選擇。”
