零售數據向好，美指抬升黃金急挫

美國商務部近日公佈美國8月零售數據，數據表現好於預期，同時數據前值有所上調。現貨黃金則出現了短線下挫的走勢，美元指數短線上漲後有所回落。數據顯示美國消費水準整體強勁，對美聯儲暫停加息有一定的緩衝空間。
具體數據顯示，美國8月零售銷售月率0.4%，預期0.2%，前值0.7%；8月核心零售銷售月率0%，預期0.1%，前值1%。
美國8月零售銷售5261億美元，前值5235億美元；8月核心零售銷售4199億美元，前值3771億美元。
市場分析人士認為，美國8月零售銷售表現強勁，且前值得以上修，整體而言美國消費水準仍極為強勁，可能給予美聯儲暫停加息步伐的空間，美聯儲9月再度降息幾乎為板上釘釘之勢，但美聯儲主席鮑威爾可能將後續降息推遲至10月之後。
在數據公佈前，布朗兄弟哈裏曼全球外匯策略主管Win Thin表示，零售銷售數據如果強勁，關注美聯儲如何證明下周降息的合理性，更不用說已經被市場消化的之後多次降息了。
下周美聯儲將公佈9月利率決議，外媒調查顯示，美聯儲將在9月會議上降息25個基點，並在2019年第4季度再次降息。近80%的經濟學家表示，美聯儲的決策不受特朗普總統批評的影響。
分析師預計，美聯儲下周決議將一如預期宣佈降息25基點，同時其所發佈的點陣圖料顯示年內仍還有25個基點的進一步降息空間。然而與此同時，美聯儲主席鮑威爾會在政策新聞發佈會上對於未來何時進一步採取寬鬆行動的前景三緘其口，這一姿態仍將會被投資者解讀為偏向鷹派。
前美聯儲主席耶倫表示，美國的經濟是健康的，但她重申了上月的警告，承認美國經濟衰退的可能性有所增加，但認為衰退不會到來。耶倫表示，美聯儲有望推動通脹達到2%的目標，不過對持續疲軟的物價壓力持謹慎態度。關於美聯儲應該將利率降至零或負值以為國債融資的想法是一個“長期被否定”的概念。
