中美貿易對抗緩和市場，但仍需警惕土耳其危機
8月17日，現貨黃金價格小幅反彈。主要因為避險情緒降溫且投資者等待中美貿易爭端的最新進展。美元指數有進一步下落跡象。土耳其法院駁回釋放美籍牧師的上訴，表明該國政經形式依舊有可能給市場帶來新的衝擊。
中、美兩國在週四(8月16日)同意，於8月21-22日舉行新一輪貿易磋商，協助抑制整個市場的避險情緒，讓緊張的金融市場略感放鬆，美元指數遂進一步脫離13個半月高位。
分析師稱：“中美舉行貿易磋商消息引發的冒險情緒，正在對美元構成壓力。接下來一周，隨著中國代表團前往華盛頓，以及針對中國商品的160億美元新關稅措施將生效，關注焦點可能會從土耳其轉向中美貿易問題。”
中國商務部網站稱，商務部副部長王受文率領的中國代表團將與美國負責國際事務的財政部副部長馬爾帕斯率領的美方代表團進行磋商。
雖然分析師和企業高層對雙方的接觸看法正面，但他們謹慎認為鑒於是低層級的磋商，不太可能有突破，美方是由財政部牽頭，而非美國貿易代表辦公室(USTR)。
一些商界消息人士表示，他們對此次會談期望不高，尤其是如果美國貿易代表辦公室官員不參加的話更是如此。他們說，邀請參加協商可能是為了穩定市場。
特朗普在內閣會議上談及土耳其時表示：“他們沒有證明他們是夥伴國，他們拘押了一位優秀的基督教牧師，他是無辜的。”
土耳其財長阿爾巴伊拉克表示，銀行業者有能力控制波動，目前存款未出現重大外流。但其岳父、土耳其總統埃爾多安反對加息的態度可能擾亂這種努力。
評級機構標普週五稍晚將公佈對土耳其的主權債信評等報告，投資人短線焦點放在土耳其里拉的反應。5月時，標普將土耳其評等從垃圾級水準進一步下調。
如果里拉維持當前的跌勢，將會增加新興市場的風險敞口，導致新興市場資本加速流出，土耳其等深陷通脹危機的新興國家可能會進一步的減持手中的黃金，以增強本國匯率的抗風險能力，這可能將進一步施壓黃金。
