貿易戰升級強化黃金困境，英國脫歐面臨新一輪冒險
8月6日，現貨黃金價格在美元指數走高的背景下重新下行，美國和貿易夥伴之間的貿易摩擦升級，美國就業數據鞏固了投資者對美聯儲升息的預期，雙雙提振美元。同時歐盟將毫不妥協把英國推向無協議脫歐。
美元更有可能在短期內鞏固，而不是大幅推高，因7月份就業報告強化了“美聯儲對經濟表現作出的樂觀評估”。但是美聯儲加快升息的前景，肯定會限制美元兌主要貨幣未來幾個月的下行壓力。
中美兩國在7月對從對方進口的340億美元商品加征關稅。美國政府料很快對另外160億美元中國商品加征關稅。特朗普政府甚至提議對2000億美元中國商品加征25%關稅。
全球最大黃金上市交易基金(ETF)——SPDR Gold Trust稱，上周五其黃金持倉量下降0.26%至794.90噸。交易員擔心，美元走強、經濟增長以及美聯儲的加息計畫將進一步挫傷金價前景。
程度上源於美國經濟前景樂觀推動美元走強。如果目前市況持續，短期內金價存在跌破1200美元的風險。
從最近大型基金押注情況看，黃金的困境還沒有結束。最新的政府數據顯示，截至7月31日的一周內，對沖基金和其他大型投機者所持的黃金淨空頭頭寸增加到至少2006年以來的高點。
英國國際貿易大臣福克斯接受《星期日泰晤士報》訪問時稱，歐盟方面毫不妥協的態度正在將英國推向無協議脫歐。
福克斯是英國首相特雷莎·梅內閣中的重要脫歐支持者。他認為英國在未與歐盟就未來關係達成協議的情況下脫歐的可能性有60%。
現在距離英國正式脫歐還有不到八個月時間，英國政府尚未與歐盟達成分手協議，並已就未達成正式協議的情況下脫歐的可能性加緊規劃。
如果英國未能與歐盟達成分手協議，甚至連過渡協議也未達成，那麼從2019年3月開始英國將重新按照世界貿易組織(WTO)規定與歐盟進行貿易往來。
這將嚴重損害英國經濟，因為英國與其現在最大貿易夥伴歐盟之間的貿易往來將需繳納關稅，英鎊兌美元匯率甚至將跌破1.20關口。
