在非洲大草原有一种叫毛尖的植物，它被称为草地之王。为什么有个这么猛的名称呢？因为
它是非洲大地上最茂盛的毛草之一，长势最猛时能达到每天生长一尺半的惊人速度，总长度竟然能生长到两米多。其实毛尖这种植物，在早期其貌不扬，有长达半年的时间始终保持在一寸左右，显得非常“孱弱”。原来，尖毛草初期只是没有“向上生长”，它的根在不断向周围和地下扩张，并且牢牢地锁住了水分和养料。在积蓄了充足的能量后，尖毛草就能在短短几天时间内，长到一人高。
如果有定投习惯的投资者就会发现，这和定投的过程是多么相似啊。定投正是在前期的下跌中努力“汲取养分”的，份额的累积就好比逐渐庞大的根系，而净值越跌，能够买入的份额就越多，“根系”也越繁密，时间足够长之后，之前的养分就会发挥左右，投资者可能在最后的定投时间获得巨大收益。
