很多人问芒格，如何才能快速发财？他说，其实，在这一辈子的投资过程中，遇到的好机会非常少。别嫌好机会少，少数几个大机会，只要你抓住了，就足够了，这是我的经验之谈。好不容易把好机会等到了，一定要敢于下重注，这就是我的投资方法。
换言之，无论在哪个投资市场，它总有下行的周期，但不应因为有这样的周期就对投资失去信心。投资这件事不在于做的多久，或者买了多少股票，只要在合适的时机合适的股票上，买了重注，投资者就能获得比大部分人要多的收益。
好的投资项目很难得，所以要把钱集中投在少数几个项目上，这在芒格看来是很好的主意，但投资界有98%的人并不这么想。
耐心等待一记好球，并以纪律和客观为指导，你可以将90％财富都投到一家伟大的公司。不需要频繁的买卖，只要几次决定便能造就投资财富。
这样的道理在黄金市场也是适用的，现货黄金本身适合短线交易，投资者只要认真分析行情，提高交易准确率，在合适的时机买卖，即可获得不少收益。投资者不必要频繁交易，要注重交易的质量。
