分析師說，美元走強以及未來經濟刺激方案的不確定性令黃金承壓。儘管預期會有更多刺激措施出臺，但一些人選擇在情況更加明朗之前了結獲利。
美元和美債收益率的飆升、股市大幅走高顯示出投資者在增加風險，這兩種因素都令黃金承壓，短期內金價或將接近1800美元/盎司的支撐位。如果美元和美債收益率進一步飆升，黃金將面臨更大的壓力。然而，更廣泛的經濟環境仍對黃金有利。民主黨政府推出更大規模財政刺激計畫的可能性相當大，這可能會提振金價，也是黃金在中長期走高的理由。
花旗銀行則表示，金價明年似乎必然回升至2000美元/盎司上方，新冠疫苗進展僅會減緩該牛市週期。分析師表示，只要美聯儲的立場依然足夠鴿派，金價就應上漲。美國缺乏財政刺激措施可能令更多資產購買的可能性上升，而美元在中期應會走軟。
