11月23日，黃金價格出現大面積下跌，由於美元走強，加上好於市場預期的美國企業活動數據以及對於疫苗實驗的樂觀預期，都提振了投資者對市場經濟復蘇更快的希望。
週一公佈的報告顯示，IHS Markit衡量製造業和服務提供商綜合產出的採購經理人指數(PMI)從56.3升至57.9。該指數高於50表明經濟活動處於擴張狀態，這與歐元區形成鮮明對比，後者的企業活動因為政府防疫限制措施而出現萎縮。美國11月企業活動達到2015年3月份以來的最快增長水準，服務提供商和製造商的強勁增長突顯在新冠疫情反彈背景下更廣泛的經濟發展勢頭。
隨著新冠病例加速增長，美國綜合PMI有放緩的風險，但是疫苗的積極進展令人們對未來的樂觀情緒達到了2014年5月以來的最高水準。強勁的國內銷售和訂單指標推動招聘活動升高。IHS Markit的服務業PMI升至2015年3月以來的最高水準。相比之下，歐元區服務活動的衡量指標連續第三個月萎縮，至5月份以來的最低水準。IHS Markit的製造業PMI達到2014年9月以來的最高水準，與此同時，歐元區的工廠活動雖然不算強勁，但也連續第五個月上升。
數據公佈後，美元指數大幅飆升，盤中一度較日低回升80點，刷新近一周高點至92.80，這削弱了黃金的吸引力。
本周金價可能會跌至1820美元/盎司水準。在那之後，可能做多更好一點。到明年1月2月，金價將能回到2000大關上方，需要有影響因素來將金價推高突破目前區域。
