KBC策略师Piet Lammens称，“公债没有理由开盘如此强劲，所以你只能将这与布鲁塞尔袭击事件联系起来。”
袭击事件发生前，美联储几位决策者周一偏于强硬的言论支撑了收益率，因他们的言论提升了对美联储进一步加息的预期。
市场周二开盘时收益率继续小幅攀升，但袭击事件发生后出现了逆转。
投资者也在等待一系列经济数据，包括欧元区制造业PMI以及德国Ifo企业景气判断指数，以判断欧洲央行是否需要进一步推出刺激举措。
