美国原油期货周三(12月17日)收涨0.54美元，涨幅1%，报56.47美元/桶，因EIA数据显示美国上周原油库存减少，但之后美联储利率决议释放鹰派信号，限制了油价的反弹幅度。
周四(12月18日)美联储利率决议称，可以耐心的开始将货币政策立场正常化，但并未弃用“相当长一段时间”措辞。其中15位决策者认为首次升息的合适时间在2015年，2位认为在2016年。
随后美联储主席耶伦发表讲话，纵观此次讲话可以看出，美联储对通胀的关注度似乎高于就业指标，这表明未来一段时间，相比于就业数据，市场的关注焦点可能更偏重于通胀数据的表现。而市场对其讲话的解读认为较为鹰派，理由是讲话中耶伦或暗示美联储最快将在明年4月FOMC会议开启加息，这个时间点早于大部分市场预期。
美国能源信息署(EIA)周三(12月17日)公布的数据显示，截至12月12日止当周，美国原油库存减少84.7万桶，预期减少225万桶；汽油库存增加525万桶，预期增加175万桶；精炼油库存减少20.7万桶，预期增加150万桶。12月12日当周炼油厂利用率下降1.9%至93.5%，预期下降0.13%。
俄罗斯能源部长诺瓦克(Alexander Novak)表示，俄罗斯政府决定即便财务压力大增，2015年也不减产。
阿联酋石油部长Suhail Bin Mohammed al-Mazroui周一(12月15日)表示，“市场像一艘巨大的船只，调整需要时间。市场如果花费三个月、六个月或一年达到平衡，那么到时候我们所有人都将受益，因为我们会有一个更加成熟稳定的市场。”
级机构标准普尔(S&P)周三(12月17日)在报告中宣布，下调2015-2016年美原油(WTI)及布伦特原油价格预估，因供应过剩及需求疲软。不过，该机构预计油价在企稳一段时间后终将逐步反弹。
标普将2015年布伦特油价预估下调至70美元/桶，并将2016年预估下调至75美元/桶；将2015年美原油预估下调至65美元/桶，并将2016年预估下调至70美元/桶。
