APEC：启动亚太自由贸易区进程意义重大

一是亚太自由贸易区将为成员经济体注入新的活力。它与中国提出的建设丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路，将为APEC各方创造可持续的经济增长。
二是亚太自由贸易区推动全球贸易发展。亚太占世界人口的40%、经济总量的57%、贸易总量的48%，是全球经济发展速度最快、潜力最大、合作最为活跃的地区，是世界经济复苏和发展的重要引擎。启动亚太自由贸易区进程，将能推动全球的多边贸易谈判，成为真正意义上的全球最大的经济体。
亚太自贸区的构想早在2004年就由APEC相关会议提出，但由于「目标过于宏大」、「难以驾驭」等原因而搁浅。中国所宣导的开放、包容的发展理念从中起到了推动作用，激发了APEC成员对亚太自贸区的热情和期盼。随着北京APEC会议正式启动亚太自贸区进程，在路线图的指引下，当前区内各相关自贸安排有望增强交流资讯，统筹协调进程，共同推动2025年建成亚太自贸区目标的实现。
亚太自贸区进程的重要性不仅只是技术层面的意义，更为重要的是它推动地区文化更稳定地走向大国合作、包容共赢的象征意义。亚太自贸区是一个开放的理念，不是取代、更不是吃掉现有的自贸安排，而是将它们看作亚太自贸区的实现途径。只要各方本着开放、包容、合作、共赢的思维，亚太自贸区的美好图景是能够实现的。
