疫情在中國以外快速擴散加劇了人們對其全球經濟影響的擔憂，促使部分人押注美聯儲將被迫降息，以緩解疫情帶來的打擊。美國10年期國債收益率紐市盤中跌至歷史新低的1.305%，增強了關於央行降息的討論。
著疫情擴散到其他國家和地區，對增長造成的影響或將持續到4月，金價可能會升至每盎司1650-1700美元的水準。
以歐元計價的黃金和以英鎊計價的黃金雙雙從週一觸及的紀錄高位回落。目前這個週期內，所有貨幣計金價都將創下新高。今年以來美元計金價已經上漲了近10%，如果再漲13%左右，就意味著突破2011年的歷史頂部水準。黃金和美元在大部分時候處在負相關關係中，即黃金和美元此消彼長，但近期這一關係被打破，黃金和美元指數一同走高。在這種情況下，黃金的漲勢更被看好。
