隨著歐元和日元匯價下的金價創下新高，巨大的黃金市場在外匯市場上的影響力越來越大。一些市場分析師認為，金價兌兩種主要貨幣的新高進一步表明，黃金作為一種避險資產的投資吸引力日益增強。
與歐洲和日本債券相比，黃金確實是一種有吸引力的資產。不過，他補充稱，金價兌這兩種貨幣創下的紀錄高點，更多地與歐元和日元的結構性問題有關。
歐元兌美元自年初以來已大幅下跌，從1.125美元跌至1.085美元的最新低點。歐元兌美元還有更大的下跌空間。歐元兌美元匯率目前處於兩年來的最低水準。與此同時，美元兌日元繼續在區間頂部交投。美元今年的漲勢令人印象深刻，金價上漲只是其它貨幣走軟的結果。
以其它貨幣計價的金價屢創新高，反映出外匯市場日益疲軟。他表示貨幣貶值通常是推動基準價值儲存手段價格上漲的主要力量，但這與金價上漲關係不大，更可能反映的是紙幣的貶值。
美元走低可能只是時間問題。儘管美元在2020年迄今表現出令人印象深刻的強勢，但它並沒有動搖黃金市場的樂觀情緒。在美元走強的情況下，金價維持在1550美元左右的關鍵支撐位。
