美國零售資料符合預期，但仍在面臨挑戰

2月14日，美國公佈了市場重點關注的1月份零售銷售資料情況，資料結果符合市場基本預期，但是市場認為美國零售業也仍需面臨一系列的挑戰，金價出現短線上漲。
具體資料顯示，美國1月零售銷售月率實際公佈0.3%，預期0.3%，前值0.3%；美國1月核心零售銷售月率實際公佈0.3%，預期0.3%，前值0.7%。
美國1月消費者支出似乎進一步放緩，其中服裝店銷售額跌幅創2009年以來最大，或引發經濟能否持續溫和擴張的擔憂。不過1月整體零售額增長了0.3%，汽車銷量繼去年12月下滑1.7%後反彈0.2%。建築材料商店銷售額增長2.1%，為去年8月以來最大增幅，銷售或受到反常的溫和天氣推動。
美國零售業仍然面臨挑戰。美國著名的百貨公司，梅西百貨宣佈在2020年裁掉2000人，而且要關閉一些大型商場，將重心放在街邊的小購物店上。
不過，在本周的國會作證中，鮑威爾表示，勞動力市場保持強勁，通脹將會回到美聯儲設定的2%目標水準。鮑威爾的證詞也指出，美國經濟仍有表現不佳的領域，包括財富和收入不平等，以及勞動力參與率在上升的同時低於許多其他發達經濟體。
亞洲公共衛生安全事件不會對全球零售市場帶來太大影響。近日來，除中國外，日本、新加坡等亞洲國家也相繼出現了確診病例。在這個往年的春節和情人節消費季，分析師認為，零售市場不會受到太大影響。
分析認為，雖然在日本或新加坡等國出現了一定數量的病例，但從整體人口來看比例仍然非常低。其實國外大多數的國家沒有恐慌。哪怕是在新加坡，也還是會有一些群聚活動照常進行。
市場總是以這種或那種方式過度反應，但是消費者現在這種反應並非出於荒謬的原因。任何傳言的風聲，比如關於疫苗的進展，或者某一天新增病例數下降了，市場都會出現過度反應。
其他美國資料表現基本符合預期。除了零售外的其他美國資料顯示，美國1月進口物價指數月率實際公佈0%，預期-0.2%，前值0.3%；美國1月進口物價指數年率實際公佈0.3%，預期0.2%，前值0.5%。
