英鎊兌美元出現震盪下行趨勢，之前歐盟官員稱，對英國新版脫歐協議通過的前景感到信心不足，晚些時候將召開歐盟峰會，有關英國與歐盟在峰會上達成脫歐協商的進展，市場的樂觀情緒正在逐漸消退，憂慮情緒是英鎊回落的主要原因。
英鎊兌美元震盪下行，自上周五(10月11日)觸及的逾三個月高點1.2707回落，日低觸及1.2516。此前歐盟資深官員稱，對英國新版脫歐協議在議會闖關通過的前景感到信心不足。
週末英國脫歐協商沒有任何進展，歐盟其他國家似乎也沒有愛爾蘭那麼樂觀，週四-週五(10月17-18日)將召開歐盟峰會，有關英國與歐盟在此次峰會上就脫歐協商取得進展的樂觀情緒逐步消退，10月31日脫歐大限前二者恐難達成協議的憂慮是導致英鎊回落的主因。
稍早愛爾蘭外長科夫尼稱，有必要對任何脫歐協議保持謹慎態度，達成脫歐協議是可能的，儘管問題仍舊存在。不過在實質性進展出現前，此番樂觀言論對英鎊的提振迅速消散。
英國政府發言人稱，首相詹森將於北京時間22:20在議會發言，鑒於上周五英鎊兌美元短線出現的巨震行情，隨著脫歐大限的臨近，任何有關脫歐協商相關的消息均可能引發匯價大幅波動，特別是在日內經濟數據清淡，且美國部分市場及加拿大市場休市的情況下。
在此前兩個交易日大跌後，美元反彈也導致英鎊承壓，投資者們對國際貿易局勢存在樂觀預期。目前關注英鎊兌美元能否在較低水準獲得買盤支撐。
英鎊兌美元將在1.2700上方面臨強勁阻力，雖然匯價有望進一步走強，但短期上漲令指標進入超買區域，預計不會突破上周五高點1.2708，短線可能築頂。有再度回落風險，但這仍是更低交易區間1.2480-1.2680的一部分。
