現貨黃金出現較大下跌，歐洲經濟有亮點

1月22日，現貨黃金出現較大跌幅，而歐洲央行決議的鴿派言論不及市場預期，歐洲製造業表現有一定亮點，限制金價走高。但市場對美國總統拜登出臺新的計畫感到樂觀，可能會押注經濟復蘇而讓美元進一步走低。
美國總統拜登週四(1月21日)迅速採取行動，協調聯邦政府的抗疫努力，這是他上任後第一個整天，措施包括擴大檢測、加大疫苗接種力度以及增加戴口罩要求等。他簽署的行政令計畫建立一個新冠病毒測試委員會以加強檢測、解決供應短缺、制訂國際旅客的相關規定、並將資源引導至那些受到疫情打擊最深的弱勢族群。
拜登上任見證了市場對其新推刺激措施的預期，以及由此給黃金市場帶來新的支撐。但隨著本周價格快速反彈，黃金在週末回調也不意外。週四公佈的美國經濟數據好於預期，也利空黃金價格。
拜登對待疫情的態度和計畫與他的前任特朗普形成鮮明對比，後者經常試圖淡化這場危機的嚴重性，並將大部分計畫工作交由各個州負責，從而導致全國各地各行其事。
之前由於預期拜登政府將擴大財政刺激和政府舉債規模，美國公債收益率上升，美元隨之一起升至。但市場對美國新政府報以厚望，已經侵蝕了美元自本月稍早民主黨贏得國會控制權以來的漲幅。
瑞銀集團美國首席策略師Keith Parker在一份研究報告中對客戶說，股市最近的上漲似乎是在美國每天分發的疫苗數量出現新的增長之後，“目前加速疫苗接種的勢頭表明股票將進一步上漲，市場押注美國可能會增加新的支出。”
由於遏制新冠的封鎖限制嚴重打擊了歐元區占主導地位的服務業，歐元區服務業活動在1月份顯著萎縮，但製造業表現依然強勁，因為工廠基本上仍在營業。1月份歐元區PMI數據公佈後，歐元兌美元仍刷新了一周半新高至1.2189。
企業增加了人手，為就業市場復蘇帶來了一些希望。企業已恢復招聘活動的事實表明，對今年下半年經濟復蘇有一定信心，雖然這增強了未來幾個月活動增長的希望，但復蘇的時間和規模最終仍取決於疫苗的推出。
在歐洲緩慢啟動後，免疫接種專案正在加速推進，人們對來年的樂觀情緒依然強勁。與此同時，疫苗的推出幫助維持了對未來一年前景的強烈信心。儘管最近確診病例數的上升導致樂觀情緒有所下降，但從歐洲央行本周的會議來看，該央行很明顯對經濟增長的擔心程度不那麼高。投資者對此總結認為，情況正在好轉，這也一定程度上不利於黃金走強。
