金價在昨日創下低位後出現反彈，同時中美的第一階段貿易協議是會否加速進行，市場無法預期。同時美聯儲主席鮑威爾暫停當前降息政策，並表明要建立強大的就業市場，而且美國失業率已為近半世紀最低，有效抑制避險情緒蔓延。
11月26日上午，中共中央政治局委員、國務院副總理、中美全面經濟對話中方牽頭人劉鶴與美國貿易代表萊特希澤、財政部長姆努欽通話。雙方就解決彼此核心關切問題進行了討論，就解決好相關問題取得共識，同意就第一階段協議磋商的剩餘事項保持溝通。
當特朗普政府去年對中國輸美商品加征關稅時，官員們言之鑿鑿，稱中國將為此買單，即中國企業將不得不降價，以吸收其商品運抵美國口岸時需要繳納的高達25%的進口“稅”。
但事與願違，紐約聯儲的研究人員週一公佈的一份研究報告顯示，中國輸美商品的價格幾無變化，也就是說，是美國企業和消費者在承擔這些關稅成本，估計每年約400億美元。
但情況並非如此。美聯儲的研究發現，2018年6月至2019年9月的進口數據顯示，中國輸美商品的價格僅下降了2%，與全球貿易放緩導致的其他許多國家的價格跌幅一致。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾週一表示，貨幣政策“處於良好位置”以支持強勁的就業市場。就業市場現在剛開始讓工人略為受益。
鮑威爾指出，低通脹數據促使美聯儲官員下調對中性利率的預估。他還表示，這也幫助經濟學家認識到，自然失業率，即在不引發通脹情況下經濟以最大潛能運行時的失業率亦比先前認為的要低。
鮑威爾說：“我們試圖建立一個強大的勞動力市場，但對於某些人而言，我們做得還不夠。他們需要機會。”而社會的普遍信條是，解決經濟不平等或貧困是國會議員、而不是美聯儲官員的職責。
美聯儲應該努力維持經濟擴張以幫助最弱勢群體的想法似乎是不言而喻的。但是縱貫歷史，以穩定價格和實現就業最大化為使命的美聯儲很少表示有必要調整其政策以使社會最底層的人受益。而且也有人擔心，解決經濟不平等需要採取的措施涉及到美聯儲無法觸及的領域——教育培訓。
