特朗普吹噓經濟政績，黃金空頭不給面子
7月27日，現貨黃金價格子啊觸及新低後回升，原因是美元未能持續上個交易日的強勁勢頭。在時段內公佈的經濟數據也讓特朗普有了吹噓的資本。但是多數經濟學家認為美國無法長時間維持當前經濟增速，同時對平息貿易戰持樂觀態度。
10年期美債收益率盤中觸及六周高點2.985%附近，使得美元指數能夠保持在上周錄得的近一年高點下方附近。美國總統特朗普此前已經對美元強勢表達了不滿，無視以往美國領導人避免公開干預金融市場的慣例。
美元普遍走強，表明基本面因素正在提振美元，尤其是在風險偏好改善的情況下，美債收益率升高以及美股上漲。美元走勢仍將被兩股因素左右，一方面是此類基本面因素帶來的提振，另一方面則是政治面因素構成的壓力，譬如總統特朗普試圖抑制美元走強等。
然而，關稅摩擦帶來的風險以及減稅效應的減弱，是分析師認為經濟難以保持如此強勁增長的原因之一。他們還預期，美聯儲決策者不會過快加息，以免抑制經濟增長。
經濟分析師們已經開始質疑，在面對貿易緊張局勢和利率上升的情況下，經濟增長能否繼續保持這種速度。本周早些時候公佈的一項調查結果顯示，經濟增長將在第二季之後明顯放緩。
美國經濟今年將受到1.5萬億美元減稅計畫和政府支出增加的支持，但預計刺激措施將在明年某個時候消退。進口關稅預計會削弱經濟增長，商品價格上漲將阻礙消費者支出，而企業則會擱置投資計畫，美元牛市很可能在年內走向終點。
鮮有人真的以為特朗普的話會全部變成行動或造成很大損害，並為此做好大量拋售美元的準備。理由是，投資人認為特朗普是為了在11月期中選舉前討好選民才這麼說的。
在中美貿易緊張局勢升級之際，美國參議院週四悄然通過立法，將降低數百種中國產商品的貿易壁壘。
白宮沒有公開對這項所謂的綜合關稅議案表明立場，參眾兩院目前已經一致通過了該議案，兩院還需解決一些小分歧，然後則會提交特朗普簽署成法律。
特朗普試圖推翻現有國際秩序的時間，正趕上全球經濟成長相對強勁。過去幾次保護主義的發生通常都是在經濟不景氣的時候，那是政府急於解決就業問題。
