分析師說道：“股市上漲令黃金的魅力有所減弱，沒有多少資金追隨進入金市。”
美國勞工部上周五公佈，2月份美國新增非農就業崗位31.3萬個，但平均時薪較上年同期的增幅由1月的2.8%放緩至2.6%。
分析師在報告中稱：“我們仍有些擔心金價的短期走勢，因隨著我們逐漸臨近美聯儲下次會議，美元預期將開始回升，面對上漲的美元，金價恐會走勢維艱。”美聯儲定於3月20日開始召開下次會議。
美聯儲今年加息預期不太可能因為金價回落而有所改變，金價在上周收盤前反彈，找回了部分上升動能。與此同時，朝鮮半島的地緣政治不確定性得到緩解。
有報導稱，如果朝鮮政權的安全得到保障，朝鮮將接受無核化。美國總統特朗普同意與朝鮮領導人會面，這將是兩國領導人首次面對面的會面，這在一定程度上對黃金構成壓力。據消息人士透露，此次會面最早可能在5月份舉行。
