邊界問題影響脫歐，貿易隔閡將出現

英國認為這種問題很好解決。上周英國的國際貿易大臣Liam Fox說，這個問題最好通過與歐盟達成“全面而自由的貿易協定”來解決。英國相信這樣的交易可以讓脫歐後英國與歐盟實現無摩擦貿易。但是專家們卻不敢苟同。
分析師的說法，即便是在反對黨工黨的建議下——英國留在關稅同盟，也不一定能解決邊界問題。他們表示，農產品不會自動被關稅同盟所覆蓋，必須進行檢查以確保符合良好的監管標準。
雖然英國表示可以通過一種所謂的智能邊界將這種干擾降到最低，但是研究人員表示仍然需要建立檢查點和監測點。
鑒於自由貿易協定和技術都無法解決邊界問題，她可能要給予北愛爾蘭相對歐盟的一個特殊地位，或者保持英國的貿易規則與歐盟一直以避免邊界的誕生。麻煩的是，她的支持者們，如倫敦市長詹森(Boris Johnson)，應該都不會樂意接受這兩個決定。
