黄金期货，是指以国际黄金市场未来某时点的黄金价格为买卖标的的期货合约，投资人买卖黄金的盈亏，是由进入到平仓两个时间的金价价差来衡量，契约到期后则是交割实物。
资金成本。黄金投资是期货,同股票投资一样需要账户,所以首先要选择一家期货公司开立期货账户及与银行联结的保证金账户。该投资采用的是保证金交易,投资者完成开户后需要存入一定数额的交易保证金,将资金从银行划转到期货交易账户后,保证金账户里的资金就不会再产生利息,这就是黄金期货投资的资金成本。目前,上海期交所规定的黄金期货最低保证金为合约价值的7%,相对于现货的全额交易,这部分成本比较低。
黄金期货交易成本：做一手黄金期货（1000克），目前各期货公司收取的佣金（包含交易所的佣金）大概在80元左右，且当日交易只收取单边手续费。进行黄金期货交易时,每交易一笔都会产生交易手续费。目前,期货交易所规定的单边手续费为30元/手,期货经纪公司收取的总手续费一般为50~60元,黄金期货价格以270元/克的金价计算每手价值27万元,交易手续费仅有万分之二,当天平仓的交易还免交取手续费,持有期货合约满六个月的交易手续费也会减半。相比较现货交易所的0.15%左右的单边手续费,期货交易成本要低得多。另外,各期货公司为了吸引更多的客户,依据客户资金量的不同还会采取不同的收费标准,但一般不会低于行业默认的最低标准。
