黄金期货，是指以国际黄金市场未来某时点的黄金价格为交易标的的期货合约，投资人买卖黄金期货的盈亏，是由进场到出场两个时间的金价价差来衡量，契约到期后则是实物交割。
黄金期货持仓成本介绍：做一手黄金期货（1000克），目前各期货公司收取的佣金（包含交易所的佣金）大概在80元左右，且当日交易只收取单边手续费。
黄金期货是国内所有黄金投资品种中，交易成本最为便宜的品种，随着金价开始进入剧烈波动期，交易成本的重要性将凸现；加上黄金期货具有做空机制及保证金交易等特点。
黄金期货合约在上市运行的不同阶段，交易保证金收取标准不同。入市的时点决定保证金比例的高低，投资者在操作时如果不注意追加保证金，很容易被平仓。
如果在到期前不选择平仓，则到期时必须交割实物黄金，这并不是一般投资者愿意选择的。
硬性规定自然人不能进行黄金实物交割，如果在交割月份，自然人客户持仓不为0，则由交易所在进入交割月份的第一个交易日起执行强行平仓。因强行平仓产生的盈利按照国家有关规定处理，强行平仓发生的亏损由责任人承担。
