有消息人士透露，美国总统特朗普已多次对白宫高级官员表示希望美国退出世界贸易组织之后，如今又有媒体曝出，特朗普在接受采访时，公开表示有意退出WTO。大田环球贵金属留意到美国总统特朗普在当地时间周四在接受采访时说，如果世界贸易组织未来不改善自己的工作，不排除美国退出世界贸易组织的可能。
特朗普说称如果世贸组织未来不改善自己的工作，其可能会从中退出。但尚未有报道指出，特朗普是在谈及什么话题时说出这些话的。而事实上，这不是特朗普第一次将批评的矛头直指WTO了。上个月，特朗普对媒体表示，多年来，世界贸易组织内对美国“非常不好”，组织必须“改变”。
这也不是特朗普第一威胁称要退出WTO。美国某网站早在6月底曾报道称有相关人士透露，特朗普已多次对白宫高级官员表示，他希望美国退出世界贸易组织。报道称，该消息人士已与特朗普讨论过这一话题，他表示，“特朗普已经100次威胁要退出WTO。并且特朗普已多次对其顾问表示，美国总是被WTO压榨。不明白为什么仍要待在其中。WTO就是被设计成世界上其他国家一起占美国便宜。”
此前尽管多位助手曾多次试图向特朗普解释，美国在WTO中运转良好，美国有大批贸易律师，并且是世贸体系的创立者。但在2016年7月，特朗普仍在竞选期间对美国全国广播公司表示世界贸易组织是一场灾难。
