供应缺口扩大推高钯金价格

近年来市场对钯需求持续上升。随着汽车业复苏，全球钯的需求持续超过矿石供应。金融危机后中国、美国、欧洲汽车行业持续复苏，汽车尾气处理用到大量钯和铂。其中中国、美国汽车以汽油发动机为主，尾气处理催化剂主要用钯。
供应面来看，俄罗斯和南非钯的产量下降。南非方面，其稀有金属生产一直由于开采成本过高，被认为是不可持续的。虽说1月24日的南非矿业工人罢工事件是短期行为，且近年来时有发生，但每次的罢工都以提高工人薪资水平结束，且此次罢工时间较长，使钯和铂的供应更加短缺，南非约30%的钯产能受影响。若罢工最终调解成功，增加的生产成本也会推高价格。
