在週末英歐脫歐協議談判無果後，日內更傳出談判即將破裂在即的重磅負面消息，重挫市場信心，此前市場一度預計英歐雙方有望達成協議。歐盟外交官稱，脫歐協議談判結果仍不確定，可能達成也可能談崩，判已進入尾聲，時間很快就要結束了。英國官員表示，如果沒有進展，脫歐談判可能將在今天結束。
此外英國本周將成為首個使用輝瑞疫苗的國家。據外媒報導，英國政府周日表示，正在為成為首個推出輝瑞和BioNTech新冠疫苗的國家做準備。在向醫生診所分發疫苗之前，將先為醫院提供疫苗。首批疫苗將於週二(12月8日)接種，英國國家醫療服務系統將優先為80歲以上、一線醫護人員和護理人員、家庭工作人員和居民接種疫苗，預計第一周將內提供大約80萬劑疫苗。
上周五(12月4日)的數據顯示，美國11月新增就業崗位為六個月以來最低。報告顯示，新增非農就業人數24.5萬人，增幅連續第5月錄得下滑，失業率6.7%，薪資年率4.4%。10月底和11月初放鬆對企業的開放限制、以及建築業的強勁需求，推動11月就業人數實現連續第七個月增加，但增幅大幅不及預期。
最新消息稱，美國總統特朗普和參議院多數黨領袖麥康奈爾將同意9080億美元的救助計畫，該計畫旨在在今年年底前通過。美國民主黨參議員馬克·沃納指出，可能最早在週一提出另一項新冠刺激法案的提案。
