9月2日，現貨黃金黃金出現較大漲幅，由於之前公佈的美國8月ADP數據不及市場預期，雖然數據內容創下有記錄以來的第三大漲幅，但仍遠遠不及市場預期。小非農數據暗示美國非農不容樂觀，黃金多頭仍有加大機會。
ADP報告顯示，8月建築業就業人數增加2.8萬人，7月為減少0.8萬人；8月製造業就業人數增加0.9萬人，7月為增加1萬人；8月貿易/運輸/公用事業就業人數增加5.8萬人，7月為增加4.1萬人；8月金融服務業就業人數增加1.1萬人，7月為減少1.8萬人；8月專業/商業服務就業人數增加6.6萬人，7月為減少5.8萬人。
由於下週一美國市場將因為美國當地勞動節假期休市，本周美國系列就業數據將會得到額外的關注程度。ADP數據表現悲觀，表明美國8月非農將走軟，道明銀行預計美國8月季調後非農就業人口錄得100萬，失業率降至10%。
不過市場預期在美聯儲的新貨幣政策下，美國利率將在較長時間內維持在低位，這為金價提供了支撐。美聯儲理事佈雷納德週二表示，美聯儲將需要推出更多刺激措施，以實現其有關更強勁就業增長和更高通脹的新承諾。貨幣政策向寬鬆方向轉變很重要，美聯儲應該在未來幾個月採取寬鬆政策。
黃金投資者們需要密切關注貨幣市場，尤其歐元兌美元的走勢，歐元美元逼近1.2關口，如果突破該水準，那麼金價就能突破2000大關。美聯儲通脹目標的挑戰會為金價帶來長期的支撐，因為黃金被視為對沖風險的避險選擇。美聯儲會長期維持極為寬鬆的貨幣政策，但金融市場可能會爆出新的泡沫，不過如果美元表現穩定，那麼金價要進一步上漲將會很難。
