一、保本型基金是什么
保本型基金，是指那些将大部分本金投资在具有固定收益的投资工具上，如定存、债券、票券等，让到期时的本金加利息大致等于期初所投资的本金的基金。另外，保本型基金还会将孳息或是极小比例的本金设定在选择权等衍生性金融工具上，以赚到投资期间的市场利差。
二、投资保本型基金要注意什么
1、保本型基金有保本期限，在一定的投资期限内对本金提供百分百或更高的保证。但若提前赎回基金，却没有保证，提前赎回的份额仅按照当时的基金净值来赎回。
2、保本基金仅保本不保盈利。也就是说保本基金到期日可能仅收回本金，或在提前赎回时有发生亏损的可能。
3、保本型基金有定期赎回的机制，其只能在规定的赎回日办理赎回，而不能像普通开放式基金那样在交易日赎回。
