美国红皮书商业研究机构昨晚公布的报告显示，美国最近一周红皮书商业零售销售年率增幅不及上周表现。美国8月17日当周红皮书商业零售销售年率上升3.4%，前值走高3.7%。
美国芝加哥联储昨晚公布的数据显示，芝加哥全国活动指数从6月的-0.23增至7月的-0.15，然而3个月活动均值却从-0.15跌至-0.24。这两个数值连续第五个月呈负值表示，表明经济增长势头不良。
美元指数周二下跌逾0.5%，同时美债收益率也小幅回落，因美联储会议纪要公布前市场情绪普遍谨慎，投资者大多将资金投入避险类的非美货币中。
