就业市场复苏不平衡，参议院加大科研投资
在本周二(5月18日)，国际金价扩大涨幅，触及1月29日以来新高1873.80美元/盎司，因美元指数失守90关口，创2月25日以来新低89.889，且通胀压力上升支撑黄金作为通胀对冲的吸引力。北京时间15:17，现货黄金上浮0.18%至1870.30美元/盎司；COMEX期金主力合约上浮0.17%至1870.7美元/盎司；美元指数下跌0.34%至89.905。
疫情扩大不同受教育程度人群之间的收入鸿沟
美联储周一发布的一份报告显示，新冠疫情大流行对受教育程度较低的美国人以及经济上最不具备应对这种打击能力的人造成了更具破坏性的影响。
据美联储的年度《家庭经济与决策调查》显示，在疫情期间，拥有学士学位的成年人与只有不到高中学历的成年人之间的财务鸿沟扩大，疫情导致的失业对低收入工人的影响更大。
美联储理事鲍曼在一份声明中称：“即使经济有所改善，我们肯定能看到一些人仍在挣扎，尤其是那些失去工作和受教育程度较低的人，他们中的许多人落在了后面。”
美联储决策层多次强调，美国就业市场复苏不平衡，投资者已经因此降低了对美联储年内加息的预期。市场如今愈发取得共识，美联储将容忍其所谓的“暂时性通胀加速”，这将使美元兑大多数主要货币贬值。
美参院投票支持讨论一项科技投资议案
美国参议院周一以86-11的投票结果，支持就一项举措展开讨论。该举措将授权在未来五年投入超过1100亿美元，用于基础和高端科技的研究。参议院民主党领袖舒默(Chuck Schumer)表示，参议院将从周二开始，用一两周时间讨论这份议案。
白宫周一表示，支持《无尽前沿法案》，将“授权对从人工智能到先进能源等领域的关键科学和工程研究进行历史性投资……它将强化全国研究机构的科学研究和技术商业化活动”。
《无尽前沿法案》将授权把其中多数资金，即1000亿美元投入基础和高端科技研究、研究成果的商业化、以及人工智能等关键科技领域的教育培训计划。
根据一份提案的草案摘要，目前正在考虑的议案包括投资20亿美元，促进用于汽车和国防领域的半导体生产和研究。但一些参议员还在研究一项措施，以包括一笔520亿美元的芯片投资。
美国政府加大科研和教育培训投资，着力培育新的增长点，未来有助于扩大就业，降低美国经济对消费的高度依赖，优化经济结构，实现经济发展更趋平衡，减少美联储决策面临的掣肘。
