在12月7日，现货黄金维持震荡走低，但是英国脱欧的担忧情绪对英镑构成明显下挫，同时带动非美货币在内的品种回落，但美国疫情仍不可小觑，对金价有一定的支撑作用。同时市场对美国财政刺激计划的期待也让金价多头在积攒力量。
稍早前，消息人士称，欧盟首席脱欧谈判官巴尼耶告诉各国代表，渔业并没有取得突破，相关报道完全失实。
隔夜，多家外媒报道，欧盟和英国接近在渔业领域达成协议。英国卫报指出，英欧双方几乎敲定了欧盟船只进入英国200海里专属经济区内海域的条件，过渡阶段的过渡期为五至七年。考虑到谈判的敏感性，双方都不愿意提供协议的细节。
上周末，法国就“威胁”称，若脱欧协议不符合利益，法国将使用否决权，其中主要谈及渔业领域的问题。法国欧洲事务部长Clement Beaune表示，法国知道，在英国脱欧后与英国签订的任何贸易协议中，法国渔民都不会维持目前在英国水域的捕捞配额。若渔业问题得到解决，可能加速谈判达成的胜算。
12月1日，民主党和共和党议员提出一份9080亿美元的刺激计划。12月2日，美国众议院议长佩洛西与参议院民主党领袖舒默呼吁立即磋商经济刺激方案，并敦促参议院多数党领袖麦康奈尔将9080亿美元的两党提案作为谈判基础。
据报道，上个月美国就业增长大幅放缓及新冠病例激增，预示着美国经济正面临更多痛苦。市场除了对美国财政刺激措施有期待之外，对美联储的宽松措施也十分期待。
分析指出，尽管美联储下周可能就未来几个月购债计划如何开展提供指引，继续完善8月提出的新操作框架，但他们现在不愿采取更多行动，主要有三方面的原因。
