10月25日，金价维持震荡上行，同时市场开始炒作美联储下周降息预期信息，对金价构成了强力的支撑，同时英国脱欧的乐观情绪有所消退，全球竞价放缓的背景也让金价保持高位。
此前美联储9月份的会议纪要显示，一些官员担心，市场预期的降息幅度可能超过美联储的能力范围。降息周期已经完成的措辞更可能出现在鲍威尔的新闻发布会上，而非FOMC的会后声明中。
美联储今年已在7月和9月两次降息，但并不是因为官员们预测经济将急剧下滑，而是因为这种下滑的风险已经增加。鲍威尔上个月将降息行动称作预防性降息。
尽管特朗普不断敦促政策制定者将利率降至零以下，但银行家警告称，负利率可能会阻碍美国的经济增长。
本周以来金价受到的最大的压力因素就是英国脱欧的乐观情绪，市场预计英国硬脱欧的概率在不断降低，从而给金价压力。
大选仍是最大可能性，悬念在于有多快。约翰逊在议会接连受挫，表明他在本届议会的处境不比前任好多少。保守党没有议会多数，就没有办法保证能推进脱欧需要的诸多立法。即便“新协议”能赢一次或几次投票，总有头疼的麻烦在后面。打破这种格局的唯一方式就是大选。
全球经济放缓的担忧情绪始终都在，并温和支撑金价。最近两周来自英国脱欧的消息，抢了市场风头，硬脱欧概率的大幅度降低增加了市场的乐观情绪。但不可否认的是，全球经济放缓的更多迹象开始显现出来，这对金价构成温和支撑。
近期美国经济放缓信号频频出现，除了制造业以外，占GDP总量近70%的消费也出现了动摇迹象。美国9月零售销售月率回落0.3%，为近七个月来首次下滑，机构已经将三季度美国消费者支出增长预期从3.0%下调至2.5%，最新的数据强化了消费者或无法永远独自支撑经济的隐患。
受到贸易形势恶化等因素影响，日本10月Markit制造业采购经理人指数PMI初值为48.5，创自2016年6月以来的最差表现，也是连续第六个月低于荣枯线。其中，制造业新订单总量出现自2012年12月以来最快的速度萎缩，未交货订单指标亦出现下滑。
根据世界黄金协会本周的评估，全球变暖会加剧热浪和暴雨等更剧烈的天气事件，可能会进一步制约经济增长。该组织称，大量资产类别回报降低的前景以及“极端实物影响”可能会让一些供应链形势混乱的风险，会增强持有黄金的理由。
