英国议会周二再度否决特雷莎·梅的脱欧协议,令英国更深地陷入危机当中。英国原定在3月29日退出欧盟。
英国议会以391票对242票否决了特雷莎·梅修改后的脱欧协议。周一,特雷莎·梅在最后时刻与欧盟领导人举行了会谈,试图缓解批评者的担忧,但最终证明毫无成果。
欧盟方面表示,发生破坏性的“无协议”脱欧的可能性“大大增加了”。但不会再与英国就脱欧条款进行更多的磋商。
分析师称:“即使英国决定推迟脱欧的最后期限,问题将迅速转变为它需要推迟多久,以及它计划在这段时间内取得怎样的成果。如果没有一个可以接受的计划,英国可能就难以在下周的欧盟峰会上说服欧洲领导人,从而将迫使市场人士逆转英镑仓位,再次令英镑面临突然下行的风险。”
中国国务院副总理刘鹤周二与美国贸易代表莱特希泽、财政部长姆努钦通话。两国经贸磋商牵头人正在加紧努力对文本关键问题进行具体磋商。
美国贸易代表莱特希泽表示,双方正努力敲定一项协议,以缓解针锋相对的关税争端。他的讲话导致双方即将达成协议的预期升温。
周二公布的数据显示,美国消费者价格涨幅慢于预期,推动美国公债收益率降至逾两个月低点的2.592%,这支持美联储对年内进一步加息保持“耐心”的立场,令美元处于不利境地。
美联储主席鲍威尔上周末在接受哥伦比亚广播公司(CBS)电视节目“新闻60分”采访时重申,美联储对今年进一步收紧货币政策持观望态度。鲍威尔表示,美联储“不急于”再次调整利率水平。
美国经济通胀前景面临的风险偏下行,因国内经济放缓速度快于预期,在可预见的未来,美联储将暂停加息。促使金价重回1300美元上方。
