日本乐观GDP提振日元走强 美元跌幅收窄
周三（5月18日）亚太时段，早盘日元兑美元走强，因日内公布的数据显示，日本第一季度经济扩张速度为1年来最快。但之后回吐大部分涨幅，因市场认为日本需祭出更多刺激举措才能使经济保持增长。
日本内阁府周三公布的数据显示，日本1-3月经济增长年率为1.7%，远高于0.2%的市场预期中值。而上一季度则萎缩1.7%。
日本公布好于预期的GDP数据之后，虽然一些投资者对当局进一步宽松的预期降温，但许多人注意到GDP报告的细节并非全面向好。
三井住友信托银行市场策略师Ayako Sera表示，“日元略微走强，因为日本经济成长好于许多人的预期。但如果看细节，还是有令人担心的地方，比如资本支出。”
日本内阁官房长官菅义伟在数据公布后的记者会上称，日本在与通缩的对抗中持续取得进展，但由于2014年上调消费税的影响依然存在，民间消费还很疲弱。他重申，明年再次上调消费税的计划不变。
很多分析师表示，日本经济勉强避开衰退，是受到闰年多出一天的提振。日本央行在上次政策会议上选择维持政策不变，但很多分析师仍认为，该央行最早将在下月推出进一步的宽松措施。
在5月11-17日接受路透调查的分析师中，约八成分析师预计日本央行（BOJ）将采取行动，包括进一步调低负利率并扩大对公债、上市交易基金(ETF)和公司债购买规模。
美元兑日元在GDP数据公布后一度低见108.73，但随后回升至盘中高位109.39。
隔夜美元/日元短暂升至109.65，为4月28日以来最高水准，因此前公布的数据显示，美国4月消费者物价涨幅为逾3年来最大。但美元随后脱离高点，因美国股市下跌且美国公债收益率走低。
日内欧元兑美元小幅下跌至1.1280附近，该货币对前夜收盘基本持平。
与此同时，英镑兑美元微幅下跌0.2%至1.4430附近。隔夜英镑涨至1.4524，因两项民调显示支持英国留在欧盟的阵营领先。
但受低于预估的英国通胀数据影响，英镑涨幅收窄。
澳元兑美元下跌逾0.6%至0.7270附近，回吐上一交易日部分涨幅。周二发布的澳洲联储（RBA）5月政策会议记录令市场对进一步降息的预期降温，当时提振澳元。
