黄金市场在经历了持续的下跌后，近期进入了多空胶着的阶段，在美联储FOMC会议即将到来的背景下，多头和空头都难以掌控市场。
汇丰银行(HSBC)高级分析师James Steel在报告中表示：“新兴市场的黄金需求对金价有所支撑，金价升水就是证明，但这不足以推动金价上涨。”
不过印度市场95金的金价升水在上周五仅仅只有50美分/盎司。
有瑞士银行业人士表示，目前有不少订单。“升水还是有的，实物需求比较强劲，尤其是95金的一公斤金条。”
上海黄金交易所(SGE)的金价升水则在4美元/盎司左右，中国香港地区的金价升水在1美元/盎司作用。
日本市场的金价则有50美分/盎司的贴水。
一名日本的交易员表示：“近期没什么交易，在节日之前市场不会有太大变动，但金价可能会先测试1000美元/盎司，之后再回升。”
丰业银行(Scotia Bank)在近期的报告中表示，预计明年实物黄金需求会有所增加，而价格的走强将为市场带来信心。该行预计金价会继续在1100美元/盎司附近波动。
