美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)周五(8月14日)公布的周度报告显示，截至8月11日当周，COMEX黄金投机净空头头寸减少7500手，至2794手具体数据显示，截至8月11日当周。
Kitco周五(8月14日)公布了本周的黄金市场调查。在经过连续4周普遍看跌黄金之后，华尔街的专家们和大众投资者在本周五达成共识，普遍认为黄金下周将会继续走高。
人民币贬值的消息使国际金融市场整体出现大幅动荡，这推动黄金市场出现避险买盘。同时人民币贬值也引发市场担忧全球央行会进入货币战争，导致对美联储加息的预期出现担忧，美元走弱，黄金间接得到提振走强。
Kitco本周在线对大众投资者调查结果显示，绝大部分投资者认为下周黄金价格将会走高，这是继连续四周大众投资者普遍看空金价之后首次改变看法。
在专业人士方面，本周33位受访专业人士中，有14位作出回复。其中7位，或50%，看多下周黄金价格。5位，或36%，认为下周黄金将会重新下跌；另有2位，或14%，对下周黄金价格持中性看法。市场专业人士包括黄金交易员、投行分析师、期货交易员以及技术分析专家。
