自由港印尼公司因事故关闭6周 损失两成

普氏能源信息（Platts）报导，世界最大上市铜矿商、美国自由港麦克墨伦铜金矿公司（Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.）印尼公司（PT Freeport Indonesia）副总裁Daisy Primayanti周三（10月16日）表示，受到5月中坑道崩塌造成28人致死严重意外，以及随后关闭约六周时间的影响，该公司所属的全球第二大铜矿印尼格雷斯堡（Grasberg）今年产量或较原定目标减少约20%。自由港公司原先预计该矿今年铜产量为11亿磅，黄金产量为120万盎司。
自由港公司7月23日公布，2013年第二季，该公司营收年减4%至42.88亿美元，净利年减32%至4.82亿美元或每股49美分，并将今年的铜产量目标下调5%至41亿磅，黄金产量目标下调21%至110万盎司，主要因为格雷斯堡事故的影响。格雷斯堡是全球第二大铜矿，也是最大的单一金矿，2012年该矿铜产量7.16亿磅，黄金产量91.5万盎司。自由港公司持有其印尼单位的90.64%股份，其余的9.36%股份由印尼政府持有。
自由港公司营销及销售副总Javier Targhetta此前表示，受到中国大陆需求增长的带动，至2025年，全球铜需求预估将以每年3.2%的速度增长。根据自由港公司的预估，未来几年中国大陆仍将是全球需求增长的主要动力来源，且其他新兴市场的需求也将强劲，而已开发国家的需求则可望复甦。根据该公司的数据，大陆在1995-2010年期间铜需求的年均增幅达到13%，预期2010-2025年的年均增幅则可达5%。
自由港公司的预估，大陆铜消费量将自2012年的820万吨，增加至2020年的1,270万吨；同期，欧洲铜需求预估将自290万吨增加至320万吨，但在全球铜市占比则由15%降至12%；美国铜需求预估将自280万吨增加至320万吨，但在全球铜市占比则由14%降至12%；日本与韩国的铜需求则预期持平。
