美国能源信息署(EIA)周三的数据显示，截至4月10日当周，美国EIA原油库存增加129.4万桶，为今年来最小周度升幅，且低于市场预估为增加405.7万桶。美国原油期货周三（4月15日）上涨3.10美元，涨幅5.82%，收报56.39美元/桶。
EIA周一公布，美国5月页岩油日产量料将较4月下降4.5万桶至498万桶，为四年多以来首次月度下降。
油服贝克休斯公司(BakerHughes)数据显示，美国石油钻井机数量已经降至2010年最低水平，意味着产量峰值即将到来。
高盛（GoldmanSaches）表示，在钻井平台数量出现创纪录下跌之际，美国原油产量和库存本月可能触顶。结束季节性维护的炼油厂到7月份有望把日需求增加约50万桶，帮助缓解85年来最严重的供应过剩局面。
惠誉(Fitch)原油和天然气研究主管AlexGriffiths称，原油价格要回升到80美元/桶将需要一段时间，供需面体现出了目前的油价水平。他表示，从基本面来看，80美元/桶的油价将是比较合理的。随着页岩油产量放缓，今年晚些时候原油价格将有相对比较快速的复苏，从二季度到三季度通常有季节性需求增长，增加大约150万桶/天。
不过，国际能源署(IEA)周三发布报告称，2015年全球石油需求增长速度将远超预期，主要受气温下降以及全球经济形势稳步改善提振；尽管需求出现了上升迹象，但由于石油输出国组织(OPEC)的供给飙升和伊朗原油出口可能增长，国际油市可能需要比预期更长时间才会收紧，即便是需求出现了走坚迹象。
IEA报告称，石油输出国组织(OPEC)3月份产量增加89万桶/日，达到近两年高点3102万桶/日，因沙特产量达到纪录高位，且伊拉克和利比亚恢复了石油供应。
IEA将对2015年石油需求的预期上调9万桶/日，至9,360万桶/日，较去年增加110万桶/日。
