周三(4月1日)伊朗与六大国的和谈判再度暂停，当天尚未出台协议草案。美国国务卿克里以及德国和法国的外交部长周三决定将与伊朗的马拉松谈判再延长一天。消息公布后，美原油暴涨逾5.1%，一度突破每桶50美元大关。
六大国与伊朗的核问题谈判原本以周二(3月31日)作为达成初步协议的截止日期。一位接近谈判的外交人员周三晚间表示，有可能在几个小时内宣布协议，但协议仍未达成，且会谈还是有破裂的可能。
本次会谈上伊朗和六国称双方立场更加接近，但均责怪对方拒绝提出可以打破僵局的建议。美国表示，如果不能达成一个初步框架协议，宁可退出谈判。
美国国务卿克里与德国外长史坦迈尔(Frank-Walter Steinmeier)宣布，他们会至少待到周四(4月2日)。可能给人带来一丝希望的是，法国外长法比约斯重新回到谈判中。他在前一天飞回巴黎，因为谈判进展太过缓慢。
美国、英国、法国、德国、俄罗斯和中国这六大国希望遏制伊朗掌握核武器的能力。德黑兰方面则要求取消损害伊朗经济的国际制裁措施，同时保护其所说的和平利用核技术的权利。
各方希望在瑞士洛桑达成初步协议，为6月30日前达成最终协议确定框架。初步协议原计划在3月31日午夜前达成，但各方均面临不空手而回的压力。
这场谈判是伊朗和美国自1979年伊朗革命以来最大的和解机会，但各自国内的保守派都持怀疑态度。即使达成了初步协议，也将是脆弱的和不完整的，也无法保证未来几个月就最终协议的谈判不会破裂。
投资者高度关注伊朗核谈判进展。伊朗拥有全球10%原油储备和近五分之一天然气储备，投资者担心若国际社会取消对伊朗的制裁，伊朗生产的原油会流入市场，加剧原油市场供大于求格局。
瑞银分析师Giovanni Staunovo表示，伊朗核协议若达成，那么短期内原油价格将进一步承压3-5美元，并且今年下半年原油价格的复苏将放缓。不过也有分析师表示，即使伊朗与六国达成框架协议，但由于最终截止日期是6月30日，原油市场不会那么快受到冲击。
