澳新银行或加入中国黄金国际板

据华尔街日报报道，澳新银行寻求在上海自贸区筹建的国际黄金交易平台中发挥作用。该平台可能会对伦敦和纽约的黄金交易所构成挑战。
中国央行本月批准上海黄金交易所在自贸区推出一个黄金交易平台。占地28平方公里（约合11平方英里）的上海自贸区被宣传为中国金融改革的试验田。澳新银行是首批具有中国现有黄金交易所做市商资格的外资银行之一。
澳新中国首席执行长李权周五表示，该行非常希望在这样一个交易平台中发挥作用。李权是在墨尔本出席“置身中国世纪的澳大利亚”会议的间隙接受采访时发表上述言论的。
他说，澳新银行在这一领域已占据很大的市场份额，这显然得益于澳大利亚作为黄金生产大国的地位，以及母公司在相关领域的实力。
他还称，中国在上海自贸区筹建的国际黄金交易平台是使自身与全球黄金市场结合起来而自然迈出的一步。中国是最大的黄金生产国。
在澳大利亚的主要银行中，澳新银行一直是最为积极寻求亚洲增长机会的银行。截至3月份的六个月，澳新银行亚太地区利润占其总利润的25%，进入了该行计划在2017年前实现亚太地区利润占比25%-30%的目标区间。
澳新银行与西太平洋银行公司去年从中国政府获得了人民币与澳元直接兑换做市商的牌照，今年又获得了人民币与新西兰元交易的牌照。
李权表示，尽管中国经济增速正在放缓，但这是在比几年前高得多的基数水平上放缓的。因此他表示，仍有商业机会可供澳新银行寻求。比方说，澳新银行可以帮助澳大利亚和其他地方的客户开展业务，也可以与中国和邻国的客户进行合作。
李权称，随著中国的制造业从成熟区域转向内陆，这也给澳新银行中国带来了新的机遇。该行目前在中国拥有6家分支机构，其中包括北京。本周，该行还将触角延伸到西部，并在成都建立一个分支机构。
李权表示∶通过这种方式可以保证我们靠近增长区域，靠近客户业务运营区域。
在地理位置上的关键中心地区设立业务也意味著，澳新银行可以涵盖当地业务，也可以涵盖在当地进行投资的澳大利亚业务，同时还可涵盖进行海外投资的当地中国企业。
