1月22日，現貨黃金在關口附近窄幅波動，早段時間還出現較大程度的下跌，因為市場出現拋售以及美元走高而造成，雖然美債收益率有所下滑，歐美股市下跌提振黃金需求，但刺激法案推進有阻礙，金價反彈有限。
分析師表示，無論是哪種資產類別，從股市到農產品再到軟資產，所有資產都遭拋售，很多關注點都放在刺激計畫能否通過，以及(新冠)疫苗接種能否奏效上。美元走強也令金價承壓，指標美國國債收益率持堅於1%上方。
財政刺激方面，美國總統拜登有關進入“戰時”防疫狀態的呼籲並未令不合作的國會態度軟化，共和黨對於其1.9萬億美元援助計畫的反對立場反而更為強硬了。甚至一些自由派民主黨人也明確表示，他們不會對新總統的做法盲目背書。國會的一些信號顯示，拜登提出的規模龐大且希望得到兩黨支持的刺激法案可能胎死腹中。緬因州共和黨參議員Susan Collins和猶他州參議員米特·羅姆尼質疑刺激法案的緊迫性。Collins週四表示，考慮到剛剛通過9000億美元的援助法案，我難以理解為什麼我們還需要再推一個規模這麼大的紓困案。
分析師表示，市場對美國進一步救助專案是否能如預期一樣順利通過有些擔憂，這影響了黃金的表現。
金價恐怕已經觸頂了，美元和名義利率的表現將成為今年金價上行的阻力。
