分析師表示，儘管金融市場與實體經濟“暫時失配”，但美國重啟經濟暗示實現復蘇的時點可能要遠早於預期，進而給金市造成了壓力。
美國總統特朗普週四提出指引，美國各州州長可根據指引分三階段逐步解除抗疫封閉措施並重啟經濟。此前有一份振奮人心的新冠病毒治療藥物報告出爐。
投資人也關注中國資料。中國經濟一季度同比下降6.8%，降幅超過預期值0.8個百分點，逆轉前期6%的增幅，因冠狀病毒爆發導致生產和消費停擺。不過3月中國經濟明顯改善，尤其工業降幅急劇收窄，讓市場看到一絲希望。
然而，全球各國央行相繼推出的大規模刺激措施為抵禦冠狀病毒疫情造成的經濟損失，限制了黃金的下調空間，因為黃金通常被視為抵禦通脹和貨幣貶值的對沖工具。
美聯儲資產負債表本周增加至創紀錄的6.42萬億美元。美聯儲早先表現，啟動無限制購債進程，確保在哪怕經濟出現自由落體式萎縮的情況下，維持金融市場正常運行。
