分析師稱，考慮到包括經濟回落、英國脫歐和中東問題在內的全球擔憂，有足夠的理由促使黃金買家在事件驅動的拋售潮發生時加大力度；他表示，儘管上周美國就業數據導致賣家打壓金價走低，一些交易員擔心目前還看不到利率鬆動的跡象，但本周黃金交易已回到起點。
向好的非農數據發佈後，交易員對美聯儲本月降息50個基點的預期明顯降溫。分析師指出：“如果美聯儲預期變得不那麼鴿派，則黃金可能進一步向下修正。關鍵支撐位見5月至7月漲勢的斐波那契38.2%回調位1375美元。”
上周拉加德被任命為歐洲央行行長，這是一個利好金價的消息，拉加德的上臺壓低了南歐和西歐國家的債券收益率，目前全球有創紀錄的13.3萬億美元債券收益率為負，這應有助於金價保持支撐。
在未來6個月的大部分時間裏，黃金投資者可能會押注美聯儲將降息，但幅度不會像美聯儲基金期貨曲線所顯示的那麼大；穩定的通脹和美國經濟數據依然良好，使美聯儲無法說服交易員繼續做多黃金。
最新的宏觀經濟數據對黃金造成負面影響的例子是，在美國6月新增22.4萬個黃金倉位後，黃金價格在上周五北美市場交易時段跌破每盎司1400美元。
當實際利率(利率減去實際通脹率)為負時，黃金往往表現最佳。目前，各國央行已經能夠控制金價的波動，以防止金價在利率為負時發揮避險作用。
從基本面來看，金價很有可能已經開始了下一輪大幅上漲：全球負收益債券數量龐大，美國國債收益率迅速下跌；白銀最終將“迎頭趕上”，並開始超越黃金。也就是說，要習慣貴金屬行業較高水準的價格波動。
美聯儲政策最終將成為黃金最大的驅動因素。只要美聯儲降息多次，黃金可能漲至1600，如果黃金可以顯著或持續地跑贏標普500指數，那麼金價可能回歸1900。
目前，黃金似乎正在消化近期的漲勢並出現回調，價格處於1420阻力下方。若價格回踩1370，將是逢低做多的機會。
