面對各種紛繁蕪雜的宏觀新聞，外匯市場波動率顯現出的詭異平靜正日趨普遍。有人說這是因為出現了結構性的變化，只有特定的流動性不足才會令市場發生閃崩。而頭寸調整動態和近期的一些特殊因素也抑制了市場波動。

分析師表示，外匯波動率要想真正提升，需要全球貨幣政策有更明顯的差異；她在週二的一份報告中稱，投機者已經持有非常多的美元多頭頭寸，抑制了波動催化劑，她說，“想要對沖貿易不確定性風險的投資者可以做多”三個月期韓元隱含波動率，因它仍處於歷史低位。”
