1月18日，現貨黃金站穩在關口上方，由於市場看好美國政府上臺後的財政擴張政策，加上美國經濟數據疲軟，拜登上任後還需要快速刺激經濟。但目前看來民主黨在國會優勢微弱，刺激方案的推行時間還不確定。
拜登週三將宣誓就任美國第46任總統，接過領導國家的重擔。眼下美國正遭遇疫情重創、陷入深度社會-經濟分裂、而且其在全球的領導角色也面臨挑戰。
拜登已經提出1.9萬億美元的刺激方案，承諾向國人發放1400美元的刺激支票，並稱需要大膽投資以啟動經濟並加快疫苗分發來控制疫情。他希望在上任後的100天內完成至少1億人口的新冠疫苗接種工作。
分析師本月以來第二度調升美國經濟增長預估，因為預計當選總統拜登推出的財政刺激計畫將加快經濟從疫情中復蘇，“當局加大力氣提升可支配收入和政府支出，暗示今年稍晚的經濟增長將會更強。”
拜登在新冠疫情席捲美國之前，就在競選活動中承諾要推翻現任總統特朗普的一些做法，但市場仍在觀望以期厘清新政府的支出和抗疫計畫。拜登在上任後需要快速刺激經濟，但民主黨在國會的微弱優勢意味著，刺激方案的規模和推出時間仍不確定。
報導援引熟悉熟悉葉倫為聽證會準備情況的拜登過渡團隊官員稱，在參議院對於其財長提名的確認聽證會上，她將明確表示美國不會尋求弱勢美元。預計新政府上臺後，將恢復對美元的傳統立場。
在去年遭遇罕見拋售後，2021年開年以來，美元命運似乎發生了逆轉，美指累計反彈逾1%，得益於美債收益率創下近10個月新高，市場看好美國新政府上臺後給經濟帶來的正面積極作用。
