7月13日，現貨黃金走強，由於美國疫情新增病例的增加，讓市場感到持續不安，投資者也對即將出爐的經濟數據和美國企業財報保持謹慎態度。同時美國國會兩黨關於是否延長疫情失業救濟的話題繼續僵持。
美國疫情二次反彈，失業救助即將到期，就業市場存惡化風險，經濟復蘇節奏或不及預期，預計美元繼續弱勢，金價短期震盪向上。通脹預期逐步修復，實際利率仍有下行空間，金價中期震盪向上。全球貨幣寬鬆環境有望延續，紙幣信用遭考驗，維持貴金屬長期上行判斷。
上週末，美國新冠病例繼續激增，市場面臨的不利因素繼續放大。佛羅里達州報告24小時內新增病例逾1.5萬人，創單州新增病例紀錄，超過紐約州4月所創高位。
美國達拉斯聯儲主席卡普蘭上周五(7月10日)表示，確保美國經濟更快速復蘇的關鍵是戴口罩，以減緩新冠病毒的傳播，“病毒的傳播方式和發病率將與我們的經濟增長速度直接相關……主要的經濟政策是大家戴上口罩，並很好地執行這些衛生保健規定；如果做得好，經濟增長將會更快。”
本週二(7月14日)開始進入美國企業第二季財報旺季，這將提供另一個評估疫情造成的經濟損害以及復蘇情況的窗口。美國週二和週四將分別公佈6月通脹數據和6月零售銷售數據。
美國幾個人口稠密、經濟發達的州近來新冠病例數飆升，這引發外界擔憂如果當局重新實施封鎖措施，或者消費者因擔心外出可能意味著感染到可能致命的疾病而減少支出，那麼可能從5月開始的經濟復蘇將會步履蹣跚。
美國眾議院議長佩洛希上周日表示，美國民眾在新冠疫情封鎖措施下處境困難，但她相信美國議員可以在延長失業救濟和失業保險方面找到折衷方案。
美國參議院的民主黨人士對共和黨關於增加新冠病毒援助的審議進程感到不耐煩，已經提議將臨時失業保險計畫長期延長。從3月底開始的每週600美元的給付，將延長直至州失業率降至11%以下。
疫情已經永久性地消滅了部分崗位。即便疫情結束，就業市場完全恢復到疫情爆發前的狀態短期內也不現實。目前疫情的威脅，尤其是美國近來病例數激增，美國失業率長期居高不下的預期仍是投資者的心中大患，進而也促成了貴金屬在金融市場上的優勢地位。
